What is in these adult botanical gummies

This page covers Spicy Cubes, a chewable botanical supplement for people 18 and over.

Read the details: what is in these adult botanical gummies

One serving is one gummy of 3 g, and each pouch holds 30 gummies, so a pouch is 30 servings. Each gummy lists 20 calories.

Spicy Cubes is a name that more than one seller uses, and products sold under similar names can differ in plants, amounts and label wording. The facts on this page come from the label of the pouch sold through our checkout on satiovex.com.

Per gummy, the label names chili pepper (Capsicum annuum) at 30 mg and maca root (Lepidium meyenii) at 50 mg. It then lists an 810 mg proprietary blend of four extracts: muira puama (6:1), epimedium, also called horny goat weed (10:1), maca root (4:1) and ginger root (4:1).

Add it up and 890 mg of the 3,000 mg gummy is named plant material, about 30 percent. The other 2,110 mg is other ingredients, which are not itemized in the product facts published here, so read that line on the pouch in your hands.

The weights of the four extracts inside the blend are not printed. That is allowed: US labeling guidance requires a blend's total weight and its parts in descending order of weight, but not each part's own weight (FDA labeling guide, question 34). So nobody working from this label alone can say how much ginger extract or maca extract one gummy holds.

If the blend follows the US rule that parts are listed by descending weight (21 CFR 101.36), muira puama is the largest part and ginger the smallest. That ordering is the only comparison the label allows.

The plants on the label, one by one

No study we found tested this product or this blend.

Read the details: the plants on the label, one by one

What follows is what published sources say about each plant on its own, at its own doses and in its own form.

Chili pepper (Capsicum annuum) is the first plant on the label, at 30 mg a gummy. Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) describes cayenne, a hot pepper, as one of the most widely eaten culinary spices, lists stomach irritation as its common oral reaction and advises avoiding it in pregnancy and breastfeeding (MSK, cayenne).

Maca root is a root crop of the mustard family grown in the central Andes and traditionally boiled before it is eaten (Gonzales, 2012). It appears twice on this label, as 50 mg of root and as a 4:1 extract inside the blend.

A 2010 summary of the maca literature found four small placebo-controlled trials with 131 people in total, using 1.5 to 3.5 g of maca a day for 2 to 12 weeks, and none of them assessed adverse effects (Shin and colleagues, 2010). The 50 mg of root in a gummy is 30 to 70 times less than those daily amounts, so the trial results cannot be carried over to one gummy.

Maca also varies from batch to batch. Its chemistry depends on ecotype, growing location, harvest and processing, no official pharmacopeial monograph exists yet, and adulterated maca products are a growing concern (Wasilewicz and Grienke, 2026).

Muira puama (Ptychopetalum olacoides) is an Amazonian tree whose roots and bark are used. A 2020 pharmacology paper reports only animal findings on its safety, such as reduced movement and impaired memory in mice given extract, and says few side-effect data exist for several of the plants it covers (Brunetti and colleagues, 2020). We found no human safety study we could read, so we say nothing about what it does in people.

Epimedium, sold as horny goat weed, is a Chinese herb. MSK says scientific evidence on it is sparse, that more studies are needed to confirm its safety and that trials often combine it with other herbs, so its own part cannot be separated (MSK, epimedium). It lists heart disease as a contraindication, and reported reactions include sweating, feeling hot and a rapid irregular heartbeat.

Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) has been studied many times, though NCCIH notes that some studies are not of high quality. It also says ginger has been used safely in many studies, and that side effects by mouth can include abdominal discomfort, heartburn and diarrhea (NCCIH, ginger).

Who should ask a doctor first, or skip these gummies

These gummies are for adults 18 and over.

Read the details: who should ask a doctor first, or skip these gummies

The label tells anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication, particularly nitrates or blood-pressure medication, to consult a doctor before use.

The plant sources point the same way. MSK advises avoiding cayenne in pregnancy and breastfeeding, tells people with high blood pressure or heart conditions to talk to a provider first, and lists heart disease as a contraindication for epimedium. The NHS tells pregnant people to check any medicine with a pharmacist, midwife or GP, and to avoid herbal remedies if they are trying to get pregnant.

Ginger brings its own cautions. MSK says to avoid ginger supplements with bleeding disorders or gallstones and to stop them two weeks before surgery (MSK, ginger), and NCCIH adds that some supplements can raise bleeding risk or change your response to anesthesia.

For maca, MSK advises anyone with a history of breast or uterine cancer to talk to a provider first and notes that maca may interfere with certain lab tests. The 2026 maca paper says its glucosinolates may affect the thyroid at excessive intakes, so ask first if you have a thyroid condition. Our maca gummies side effects guide sets out what the maca trials reported.

If something feels wrong, stop taking the gummies and contact your health care provider, as NCCIH advises. In the United States you can also report a problem to FDA through its Safety Reporting Portal (FDA, questions and answers), or reach us through our contact page.

Who they suit, and what we do not claim

These gummies suit adults who prefer a chewable, one-a-day format, who read labels and who are comfortable that no effect is promised and that the blend is not broken out.

Read the details: who they suit, and what we do not claim

If you want the weight of each ingredient printed, this label is not that.

Spicy Cubes are a food supplement, not a medicine. FDA states that it cannot approve dietary supplements before they are marketed, and that manufacturers and distributors carry the first responsibility for safety (FDA).

We do not claim any effect for these gummies. The research above covers single plants at other doses and forms, and no test results for this product are published on this site, so this page states only what the label says.

The European Commission keeps a register of nutrition and health claims (European Commission). We use no claim wording from it for these plants, and this page makes no health claim of its own.

For more, read the label checks in our adult gummies guide.

Before you order

What a pouch means in day-to-day use

Here is what a pouch means in practice, and what it does not.

01

A one-a-day routine

One gummy a day, as the pack directs, makes a 30-count pouch a 30-day supply. Each gummy is 3 g and 20 calories. We do not describe flavor or heat here, because the product facts we hold do not cover them.

02

No promised effects

No study tested this product, so we promise no effect and give no timeline. Trials of maca on its own lasted 2 to 12 weeks at 1.5 to 3.5 g a day, which a 50 mg gummy does not match (Shin and colleagues, 2010). Our guide on how long maca takes to work explains why those timelines cannot be borrowed.

03

Possible stomach upset

MSK lists stomach irritation for cayenne, NCCIH lists abdominal discomfort, heartburn and diarrhea for ginger, and in one maca trial 3 g a day of powder was linked to temporary stomach upset, headache and irritability (Ulloa del Carpio and colleagues, 2024). If you notice a reaction, stop and ask a professional.

04

Tell your care team

Mention these gummies to your doctor or pharmacist, especially before surgery or lab tests. MSK says ginger supplements should be stopped two weeks before surgery, and NCCIH advises telling all your providers about every supplement you take.

Common questions

What are adult botanical gummies?

Adult botanical gummies are chewable supplements for people 18 and over that contain plant ingredients. The ones on this page, Spicy Cubes, list chili pepper, maca root and a blend of muira puama, epimedium (horny goat weed), maca and ginger extracts. They are a food supplement, not a medicine.

What is in one Spicy Cubes gummy?

One 3 g gummy lists 20 calories, 30 mg of chili pepper, 50 mg of maca root and an 810 mg proprietary blend of four extracts. The weights inside the blend are not stated on the label.

How do I take them?

Take one gummy a day, following the directions printed on the pack, and do not exceed the recommended serving. A pouch of 30 gummies is therefore 30 servings.

Can I take one every day?

The label directs one gummy a day, but no study has tested daily use of this product. Most maca trials ran about 12 weeks (Ulloa del Carpio and colleagues, 2024), and a 2026 summary says robust data on prolonged use are still thin (Wasilewicz and Grienke).

Who should ask a doctor before taking Spicy Cubes?

Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medication (particularly nitrates or blood-pressure medication) or living with a medical condition should ask a doctor first, and the gummies are not for under 18s. MSK also lists heart disease as a contraindication for epimedium and bleeding disorders for ginger supplements.

What does proprietary blend mean on a gummy label?

It means several ingredients share one total weight on the label. US guidance requires that total and the parts in descending order of weight, but not each part's own weight (FDA labeling guide). On this label, the 810 mg blend holds four extracts.

What do the extract ratios 6:1, 10:1 and 4:1 mean?

A ratio such as 10:1 means about ten parts of plant material went into making one part of extract. The European Medicines Agency defines the number before the colon as the relative quantity of plant used and the number after it as the quantity of extract obtained (EMA herbal guideline). It describes how the extract was made, not how much of any compound a gummy holds.

Is there research on the plants in the blend?

Some, but it is thin and none of it tested this product. A 2010 summary found four small maca trials with 131 people in total and none assessed adverse effects (Shin and colleagues), while MSK describes the evidence on epimedium as sparse.

How long does delivery take, and can I return the gummies?

Delivery is estimated at 4 to 5 working days to the UK and 5 to 8 working days to other countries, counted from dispatch, with free tracked shipping on every order. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies; see shipping and returns.

How do the pack offers work?

Every pouch holds 30 gummies. 90-gummy pack: you pay for 2 pouches and receive 3. 150-gummy pack: Buy 3, Get 2 Free (pay for 3, receive 5). 300-gummy pack: Buy 5, Get 5 Free (pay for 5, receive 10).

How does the single-pouch offer work?

Until 12 October: Buy 2, get 1 free on the single 30-gummy pouch only. Add three and the lowest-priced one is free; it applies by itself at checkout, no code needed. The packs already include free pouches and are excluded.
